Spring clean your Facebook profile

Profile Image

Your profile image is the first impression visitors have of your business on Facebook, so you want to make sure it's up to date and accurately represents your brand.

  • Use a high-quality image of your logo or a professionally taken headshot (if you're the face of your business).
  • Ensure the image is crisp and clear, as a fuzzy or pixelated image can appear unprofessional.

Cover Photo

Your cover photo is an opportunity to showcase your brand personality and make an impact on visitors.

  • Choose a high-quality image or video that reflects your business's mission, products, or services.
  • Keep it visually consistent with your brand colours and style.
  • A good tip is to regularly update your cover photo to showcase new promotions, events, or seasonal themes. It can change as often as you like.

About Section

The 'About section' on your Facebook Business Page allows you to introduce your business to visitors and highlight your unique selling points.

  • Ensure your business description is clear, concise, and up-to-date.
  • Include relevant keywords that people might search for - related to your business.
  • Check that your contact information, website, and operating hours are accurate - this is something I see all the time - out of date information on bio's.

Services and Products

Listing your products and services on your Facebook Business Page makes it easy for visitors to understand what you offer and how you can help them.

  • Regularly review and update your services and product listings to ensure they are current and accurate – especially the prices!
  • Include eye-catching images and detailed descriptions to make your offerings more appealing. Think of this as a mini website.

Pinned Posts

Facebook allows you to pin a post to the top of your page, giving it more visibility.

  • Choose a post that showcases your best content, promotions, or important announcements.
  • Regularly update your pinned post to keep your page fresh and engaging.
  • You could refresh both the pinned post and cover image at the same time.

Review Your Last 10 Posts

When visitors browse your Facebook Business Page, they often look at the most recent posts to understand what your company does.

  • Ensure your last 10 posts effectively showcase your business and build trust.
  • Analyse the performance of your posts from the past 6 months, find what is popular, and reshare and/or create more content like this.
  • Maintain a visually consistent theme and style that reflects your brand identity.

Reviews (aka Recommendations)

Did you know that nine out of ten customers read reviews before buying a product or service? (Source: Brand Rated) It's not surprising, considering that many of us do the same. As part of our spring cleaning, let's take a moment to examine the reviews on your Facebook Business Page.

  • Check the date of your last review or recommendation. If it's been over a month, now is the perfect time to reach out to your existing customers and kindly request a review.
  • Make a point to respond to all reviews, both positive and negative. This not only shows your appreciation for their feedback, but it also shows great customer service.

Facebook groups

Facebook groups are fantastic for connecting with others and showing off your expertise. But let's be honest, being in too many groups can get pretty overwhelming. And if you're not in the right groups, you could be missing out on some amazing connections. That's why it's a good idea to regularly check the groups you're in, making sure they're in line with your business goals and values.
